o   Parent T-Shirt Orders for $10 must be confirmed

·         Stroke Judge

o   We are in desperate need of stroke judges again this year.  The Training is excellent and is not a very difficult job.  Half of your Concession Fee will be waived

o   Training on Thursday May 10 and Saturday May 12

St. Peters residents can sign up from 8- 9 AM, and bring your resident ID card.   Returning non-resident swimmers can sign up from 9-10AM.  All others can register from 10 AM-noon.  Make sure you sign up for the Laurel Park Swim Team!

Check 1: Registration Fees to Rec Plex can be Credit Card

The above League registration fees are payable to the City of St. Peters.

Payment of cash, check, MasterCard or VISA is acceptable.

Check 2: Laurel Park Swim Team fee- $40 per family.  Check payable to Laurel Park Dolphins.  Our Swim team fee pays for the concession fee, end of year party and a Laurel Park Swim Team shirt for every member of the team.  If you have multiple children on the team all swimmers will get a t-shirt; the maximum will be $40 per family.   

Check 3: Work deposit- $100 per family.  Check payable to Laurel Park Dolphins.  This check will be shredded if one parent or guardian from each family works at every meet your child participates in.  The types of work required are: starter, stroke judges, timers, concession workers for home meets, bullpen organizers, ribbon table workers, runners, shirt coordinator, and ribbon sorter after home meets.  Please note we are keep close tabs on the parents that work and checks will be deposited immediately.

Check 4: All County Swim Meet $10 per swimmer.  Check payable to Laurel Park Dolphins. Please pay your All County Fee at this time which is $10 dollars per swimmer that includes an All County T-Shirt. Please note you will still need to sign your child up for All County Swim Events the last week of June to get into the All County Swim Meet.

We will have six meets this year (see the schedule below), plus the All-County meet.  Everyone please mark your calendars for the All-County meet to be held on Saturday July 28th..  This is a very exciting and great event.  This is an event every member of the team should plan on attending to represent our team.  The meet is not any longer than any other meet during the year and will be either in the morning or the afternoon.  Payment of $10 per swimmer for all county is due Saturday April 14, 2012.

Swim Suits

We are staying with a similar swim suit again this year.  Kids Sports world merged with Johnny Mack’s and continues to be our sponsor.  The great news is that you can now get your suits from Julie in St. Peters at Johnny Macks.  We will have a representative at the first practice and Parent Meeting.  John Mack’s is off Midrivers Mall drive mall located at 5819 Suemandy Rd., St. Peters, MO 63376 at phone number 636.278.2344.

It is important that your child attend as many practices and meets as possible.  The more practice they have, the better they do at the meets.  Your child must participate in at least 3 swim meets to qualify for the All-County Meet.

Parent’s Responsibilities

Swim team is lots of fun for the kids and parents but requires a commitment by parent volunteers to work every meet that your child is in.  To make each meet run smoothly, it truly requires participation by every family.  Every position must be staffed in order to run a meet.  Questions concerning responsibilities of each position will be answered at the first practice and Parent Meeting on Tuesday, May 29^th at 7:00 P.M..  There are a number of fun opportunities to volunteer including the concession stand, bull pen, ribbon table, and stroke judge.  

Stroke Judge Clinics

Parents, we are in critical need of more stroke judges this year.  We currently only have two stroke judges and we must have 4 judges to run a meet.   If you were swimmer in the past or have an interest this is great opportunity for you.  Coaches, league reps and interested parents are also welcome to attend.   Please consider doing this if you have swim experience or an interest in being a stroke judge.  Stroke Judge Clinics are at Lake St. Louis and dates have not yet been set.
